The Sultanate celebrates the Wildlife Day of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries

The Sultanate, represented by the Environment Authority , today (Wednesday) celebrates the Wildlife Day of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries under the slogan “Man and wildlife are partners in one environment,” and the celebration of this day comes on December 30 of each year.

The countries of the Cooperation Council celebrate the Gulf Wildlife Day under the slogan chosen by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, with the aim of being an annual milestone in which efforts are combined to preserve wildlife, ecosystems and endangered species.

The choice of the slogan “Man and wildlife are partners in one environment” this year came as an affirmation of preserving the values ​​of man, life and nature in one harmony. It also affirms the importance of balance between the vocabulary of nature about man, and the protection of wildlife from the dangers that humans cause from pollution and tampering that destroy Natural places.

The celebration of this environmental day also sheds light on the human model that is based on the coexistence of human beings and the wild life, as well as awareness of the importance of the person being at peace with the environment and the wildlife around him.

It is noteworthy that the permanent committee of the Convention on the Preservation of Wildlife and Their Natural Habitats in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries, during the thirteenth meeting of the Standing Committee of the Agreement, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh in 2015 AD, that it be on December 30 of each A year as a day to celebrate the Gulf Wildlife Day. It approved the date of ratification of the agreement by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council in its twenty-second session, which was held in Muscat on December 30, 2001.
