License to Import and Use Radioactive Substances for Industrial and Commercial Purposes

A service providing applicants with a license to handle radioactive substances for industrial and commercial purposes, as per the license type:
o License to import, transport, use, and store radioactive substances
o License to import and transport radioactive substances
o License to use and store radioactive substances

 To adhere to the following:
o Royal Decree no. 114/2001 issuing the Law on Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution
o The technical specifications of licenses issued by the Environment Authority
o Regulations for the Control and Management of Radioactive Substances issued by Ministerial Decision no. 249/97, and its amendments by Ministerial Decision no. 281/2003
o Ministerial Decision no. 21/99, and its amendments by Ministerial Decision no. 81/2002, Imposing Fees on Licenses to Import, Transfer, Store and Use Radioactive Substances
o Additional conditions:
- To have a storage facility license issued by the Environment Authority

o For export and transport services, the website of Royal Oman Police - Directorate General of Customs (Bayan system)
o For use and storage services, the website of Environment Authority

One (1) year

Application processed within twenty-four (24) hours

o Application supporting letter issued by the service provider
o Work contract (agreement between two companies to use radioactive substances)/purchase order/letter confirming the purpose of use
o Copy of the vehicle license\ authorized by the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority
o Letter of undertaking from the manufacturer to retrieve radioactive substances upon end of use
o Leakage inspection certificate for each radioactive source
o Copy of the license of the storage facility where radioactive substances will be stored
