License to Use a Radioactive Substances Storage Facility

A service providing applicants with a license to store radioactive substances in sites approved by the Environment Authority for commercial/industrial/medical purposes
1- Application submitted electronically on the Environment Authority’s website with all required documents
2- Field visit
3- Receipt of license
o To adhere to the following:
o Royal Decree no. 114/2001 issuing the Law on Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution
o The technical specifications of licenses issued by the Environment Authority
o Regulations for the Control and Management of Radioactive Substances issued by Ministerial Decision no. (249/97), and its amendments by Ministerial Decision no. (281/2003)
o Ministerial Decision no. (21/99), and its amendments by Ministerial Decision no. (81/2002), Imposing Fees on Licenses to Import, Transfer, Store and Use Radioactive Substances

The Environment Authority’s website
o Copy of the storage safety and security license issued by the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority
o Copy of the title deed and plot sketch of the storage facility’s location
o Lease contract if the beneficiary( land user) is not the plot owner
o Work contract signed by the beneficiary and the owner of the storage facility
o Photographs of the storage facility (from all sides) showing radioactive materials warning signs and list of emergency contact numbers, as well as clear photographs of the power supply in the storage facility
Fourteen (14) working days, subject to submission of all required documents and meeting all requirements
Upon the expiry of the safety and security license issued by the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority
