A service providing applicants with a permit to collect wildlife samples in the Sultanate of Oman
1- Application submitted electronically on the Environment Authority’s website with all required documents
2- Application consideration and evaluation
3- Electronic payment of permit fees
4- Receipt of permit
o To adhere to the following
o Royal Decree no. 114/2001 issuing the Law on Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution and relative Executive Regulations
o Royal Decree no. 6/2003 issuing the Law on Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservation and relative Executive Regulations
o Ministerial Decision no. 101/2002 on Ban on Hunting, Capturing or Shooting Animals Wherever found in the Sultanate of Oman and relative Executive Regulations
o Royal Decree no. 11/2017 Determining the Fees for Granting Permit to Collect Wildlife Samples for Scientific Purposes

As per the period set out in the application, but not more than six (6) months
Twenty-five (25) working days, subject to submission of all required documents and meeting all requirements
Permit to collect wildlife samples for scientific purposes
o Copies of the research and research action plan
o Supporting letter from a research organization based in the Sultanate of Oman for researchers coming from abroad
o Fees based on permit period:
o 1 to 3 months: OMR 10
o 1 to 6 months: OMR 20
