Within the framework of the field visits that His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Omari, President of the Environment Agency, undertakes, to the environmental directorates and departments in the governorates.
His Excellency met with the Director General and environmental employees in the Governorate of Dhofar. During the meeting, ways to develop environmental work were discussed with the need for cooperation with all governmental and private institutions. His Excellency stressed in the meeting that the environment is one of the pillars on which Oman Vision 2040 is based, as well as the important role of environmental awareness and the delivery of its message in Protecting the environment and preserving its natural resources for all segments of society.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Authority visited the Dhofar Municipality, in which he met with His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghassani, the mayor of the municipality. During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation and develop joint environmental work between the two sides were discussed.
His Excellency also met during his visit to the Governorate of Dhofar with His Excellency Sayyid Muhammad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar. During the meeting, a number of issues concerned with environmental affairs in the various states of the governorate were discussed. Various environmental issues were also addressed, including the issue of desertification and some challenges that work faces. His Excellency stressed the need for concerted efforts to develop areas related to the environment sector in the governorate and work to develop them in accordance with Oman Vision 2040.
